Next to the vineyards we cultivate another 30 hectares of crops according to certified and controlled organic regulations.
Wheat, rye, barley and squash are among the crops that are rotated. Alfalfa grown is for two years at the end of each crop period to revitalize the soil. The deep roots and bacterioids of this legume provide natural soil nourishment that creates humus, improves soil structure, and minimizes erosion.
Organic agriculture contributes significantly to the preservation of rare wild meadow herbs (cornflower, larkspur, corn cockle, etc.) and subsequent biological diversity.
